Greetings from my strange little corner of the internet!
So this is supposed to be all about me. How keen. Let’s see, I’ll skip the part where I say I’ve been writing since I was knee high to something really tiny.
Not actual size.
Anyway, I write weird stuff, chase around one increasingly surly tween and the bounciest second grader I know. Sometimes, I even go outside.
It is true, I’ve been writing on and off for years at least when I’m not reading all the things. It’s also true that I have a bachelor’s in English with a emphasis on creative writing.
Since November of 2013, I’ve been working on a YA light sci fi novel entitled Silverblood. I suspect the title needs changing since it’s a bit too vampire-y for a book about angsty cyborgs, but I suck at titles.
When asked what my book is about, when I’m not tripping over my tongue to say it’s about things and. . .um, stuff, I tend to list off.
Silverblood is about:
redrum. . . REDRUM *extends index finger*
It’s similar to:
All those sad cancer books.
And features:
. . .
. . .
. . .
CYBORGS
Badass girls hitting things with sledgehammers.
(Terminator-style unstoppable lady scientist cyborg baddie not pictured here)
Creative duct tape usage.
Weaponized Froot Loops.
I had a hell of good time writing this book and I really hope other people decide they love it as much as I do, but I’m pretty sure it’s still missing a little something something. This is why I’m entering Pitchwars, to hopefully take it that few extra steps from awesome to awesomesauce.
So glad to be participating again. The community is great, the people are amazing, and whatever happens there’s tons to be gained by participating.
Thanks for reading!
